A Simple Fly Trap
Have flies invaded your kitchen and you’d rather not use a chemical spray to get rid of the pests? Here’s a simple fly trap which is made with nothing more than a funnel and a broadmouthed jar. Put bait, such as a piece of fruit or bread, in the jar, insert a funnel in the mouth, and stand the two upside down on several blocks of wood, so a small gap is formed between the funnel and the surface of the table or floor. Flies will be drawn into the jar by the bait but won’t be able to find their way out, like lobsters in a trap. To get rid of the flies, turn the jar and funnel right side up, fill the bottle with water through the funnel, and then remove the funnel and pour the drowned flies down the drain or outside the house.
